Search engines are driven to seek content and current events. Your website needs to be current. Your content current and even your design current. Google is quite sophisticated in determining which sites are relevant to what searchers are looking for. A few ways to boost your SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is though the following:
- Title Tags: When it comes to on-site search engine optimization few elements are more important than title tags. Title tag is the text that appears in the top of a user’s web browser. Search engines use it as the actual title of a search listing. Your title tags should contain the keyword that you are targeting for the search engines and should be no longer than 70 characters. It’s not enough to name your page “Bob’s Widgets in Arizona,” your title tags needs to include actual terms that your target marketing uses when searching for a product or service that you offer.
Of course, to know this you need to do some research. Google web tools are a great starting place to learn more on this.
- Press Releases: Press Releases generate current information for relevant links. If your businesses introduces new products, services, hires new people, provides news worthy solutions for clients and customers, then this is Press Release material.
When you submit your PR to an online press release site, you have the opportunity to include a link to your company’s website. This type of link is called a “backlink.” They are important because search engines like Google which see high-quality backlinks as a measure of authority, and will reward your site with a higher ranking when you have these links pointing to your website.
- Articles: Articles are another way to build your authority online. Websites such as articlebase are free to use. Become the authority in your industry by sharing your knowledge online in articles.
